I checked out this site and I like how he did his logos. It focuses my attention, is nice and simple, makes my eyes move exactly to where it is, and does not make me go, "Okay... What is this about?" http://www.davidairey.com/portfolio/ It's the first nine that I like. :)
With further browsing of the internet, I saw some things I liked and some things that were.... eh. (In my opinion that is....) Hm... Well the first picture on this site sort of confused me for a second; my eyes sort of skipped the word "art" and my mind was like "Huh?". It's nice but I can't really see the words.... >.< http://veerle.duoh.com/artveerle/comments/duoh_dot_com_illustrations/
But I do like the one right below it. Its easy to read, makes its point and has illustrations to add more punch to it. The color scheme also adds more emotion (which I'm guessing is not all that positive) to the design. Heh. The design has a slight sense of humor that attracts my attention.

In Veerle's case, the designer's style in all those pieces are very progressive. The colors are bright and treated against black so they definitely say "hey look at me!" It's refreshing and reminds of tech and fun. The other designer's logos are clean and corporate. I think he can push the envelope a bit more. When you guys design stuff for your portfolio, make sure to not have stuff look like his. THe goal is to be experimental and design/create visual things that are new and attention-grabbing. We'll talk more about it. Good start. Keep going!
hellooo
Interesting site, with lots of different designs.
